Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 21, 2026

RoastMe.Live offers RoastMaster, a paid AI roast writer for adults, and a free photo roast sample. This policy explains what we process to do that and what we do with it.

What we collect

  • RoastMaster: the name or nickname you enter for the person being roasted, the stories and details you type about them, the roast drafts we write, and your purchase record (an order ID, what you bought, and the time). The details you type may describe another person; please only include what you would say to their face at a party.
  • Payments: Stripe collects your payment details and email address to process the payment and send a receipt. We never see or store your card number. We receive an order ID and confirmation that you paid.
  • Roast-back codes: each roast comes with a code. When someone uses it, we store what they type and the roast we write, the same way.
  • Free photo sample: the photo you upload, the category you pick, and the roast text we generate.
  • A random visitor ID stored in your browser (local storage), used only to enforce the daily free-sample limit. It is not linked to your name or email.
  • Standard connection data (IP address, browser, device, and request logs) that our hosting provider processes when you visit the site.

You do not need an account to use RoastMe.Live.

Why we use it

We use what you give us to write your roast, deliver what you bought, prevent abuse, keep the service running, and handle support and refunds.

Who processes it

  • OpenRouter routes requests to AI model providers, such as Moonshot AI, xAI, DeepSeek, Z.ai, and OpenAI. RoastMaster sends the name and the text you type to these providers to write the roast, and the free sample sends your photo to an image-analysis model. These providers process your data under their own terms and retention policies, which we do not control.
  • Stripe processes payments.
  • Convex provides our backend and storage.
  • Netlify hosts the website and may process standard hosting-request data.

We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

  • Free-sample photos are deleted from our storage as soon as the roast is created.
  • RoastMaster names, stories, and drafts are deleted automatically after 30 days. Download what you want to keep before then.
  • Purchase records (order ID, what was bought, and the time) and roast-back codes are kept so we can handle support and refunds and prevent code reuse.
  • Stripe keeps payment information under its own policies.

To have your records deleted sooner, email us (see below).

Featuring your roast in our marketing (optional)

Under each roast draft there is an unchecked box that lets you offer that draft for our ads and marketing. It is entirely optional, and off unless you tick it. If you do, we save that draft and the name you entered for the person, and we may use it in ads, social posts, and other marketing, changing names and details as we see fit. We do not use your own name or email.

This is kept until you withdraw it, separately from the 30-day deletion of your stories. To withdraw, uncheck the box on your roast page, or email roastmaster@roastme.live and we will remove it and stop new uses.

Cookies and advertising

We run the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel and the TikTok Pixel on the site to measure our ads and show them to people likely to be interested. These set cookies and tell Meta and TikTok that you visited, whether you completed a free sample roast, and whether you purchased RoastMaster (with the amount paid, but not what you wrote). Meta and TikTok may combine this with your existing account activity on their platforms under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

The visitor ID mentioned above lives only in your browser's local storage and is separate from these pixels; you can clear either at any time in your browser settings. Stripe may also set its own cookies on its checkout page. If your browser or an extension blocks these trackers, the site still works normally.

Your California privacy rights

California residents may have the right to know what personal information we hold, request that we delete or correct it, and opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information. To make a request, email roastmaster@roastme.live. We will respond to verified requests within the time required by law.

Adults only

RoastMe.Live and RoastMaster are for adults 18 and older. Do not use the service, or describe anyone under 18, in a roast.
